How to Make Your Bed Look Like a Luxury Hotel: Easy Bed Bundles

There’s something about a hotel bed that just feels better. Crisp sheets, a fluffy duvet, perfectly stacked pillows. Somehow, even the simplest hotel room can make you want to crawl into bed and stay there all day.

You can recreate that feeling at home with key upgrades to your existing bedroom set up. To save you from the work of sourcing bedding, we’ve put together “bed bundles”, an easy, click to shop solution. Each bundle includes the pieces you need to create a beautifully layered bed, with options for Twin, Full/Double, Queen and King beds.

You don’t have to spend hours trying to figure out which sheets, pillows and bedding actually look good together. Jump to the bottom of this blog to shop our bed bundles, and read through to learn how we achieve a hotel look and feel with a few key bedroom styling tricks.

Start With a Crisp Foundation

The best hotel beds start with a simple foundation.

A fitted sheet, flat sheet and duvet in a clean, neutral colour give you a blank canvas to build on. White is a classic for a reason. It feels fresh, clean and timeless, and it makes all of your other layers stand out.

If you're styling a guest bedroom or short-term rental, this approach also makes it much easier to keep your bedding looking cohesive. We always recommend white sheets for a clean, crisp look. Don't overthink the base. Save the personality for your layers.

Layer Your Bedding

The secret to making a bed look expensive isn't necessarily buying expensive bedding. It's layering.

Start with your sheets, add your duvet or comforter, then bring in another layer at the foot of the bed. A quilt, coverlet or folded blanket adds texture and makes the whole bed feel more finished.

This is also where our Bed Bundles come in handy. We've already paired the pieces together, so you can get the layered look without having to build the combination yourself.

Make Your Duvet Look Fluffy

A flat duvet can make even a beautifully styled bed feel a little sad.

For that fluffy hotel look, choose an insert with some volume and give it a good shake before making the bed. Another option is actually using two inserts to fluff it up, if the one you purchased just isn't cutting it. Let the duvet fall more naturally rather than pulling it completely flat.

You can also fold the top of the duvet down slightly to expose your sheets and create another layer. The goal isn't perfection. You want it to look plush and inviting.

Don't Underestimate Your Pillows

Pillows are one of the easiest ways to make your bed look more luxurious.

Instead of throwing your sleeping pillows on the bed and calling it a day, create a few layers.

Start with your regular sleeping pillows at the back, then add larger decorative pillows and finish with a smaller accent or lumbar pillow.

You don't need a mountain of pillows. A few pillows in different sizes and textures will give you that styled look without making the bed impossible to actually use.

Add Something at the Foot of the Bed

A folded blanket or throw at the end of the bed is one of those small details that makes a big difference.

It adds another layer of texture and gives the bed a more finished look. Plus, it's an easy way to bring in a little colour if you're working with mostly neutral bedding.

Try a chunky knit, woven throw or soft cotton blanket. Don't worry about getting the fold perfectly straight. A little casual is what makes it feel like a real, lived in bedroom instead of a showroom.

Keep Your Colours Cohesive

If you want your bed to look expensive, resist the urge to introduce a new colour with every layer.

Instead, choose a simple palette and repeat those colours throughout the bedding. Try combinations like:

  • White + ivory + taupe
  • Cream + camel + brown
  • White + soft blue + sandy beige
  • Ivory + charcoal + warm brown

You can still have fun with pattern and colour. Just make sure everything feels like it belongs together.

Finish With the Details

Once your bed is made, take a look at everything around it.

A couple of lamps, a styled nightstand, curtains hung high and wide, a rug that extends beyond the bed and a few pieces of artwork can make a huge difference. And if you're styling a short-term rental, these details matter even more. The little details go a long way towards making your guest bedrooms feel special.

The Hotel Bed Formula

If you want to recreate the look yourself, here's the simple formula:

Crisp sheets + fluffy duvet + layered pillows + textured throw + cohesive colours = a bed that feels like a hotel.
