Our consulting service is typically used for clients who are in the early stages of their build or renovation, before furnishings or décor come into play. At this stage, we help you make confident, cohesive aesthetic and layout decisions that set the tone for your project’s success.

While this is the most common use for our consulting service, it can also be helpful at other points in your project - for example, if you prefer to handle sourcing yourself but want expert guidance along the way, this hourly service may be a good fit for you. Many clients begin with our consulting service to finalize finishes, fixtures, and layout recommendations, then transition with PWD into the full design phase once construction is complete.

The Virtual Design Phase covers furniture, décor, and styling to complete the home. When you are ready to move forward, we will send a separate proposal outlining the new scope, flat fee, and next steps.

This ensures each phase receives the attention it deserves while keeping your overall design vision cohesive from start to finish.

What’s Included

• Design consulting for new builds, renovations, and remodels.
  
• A second set of expert eyes on your plans before permits or final submissions, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
• Layout and flow consultation to advise on room configurations, furniture placement potential, and proportion prior to final planning (Very important: waiting until after plans are finalized often means missing key opportunities to optimize your space!)
  
• Paint color specifications and detailed paint schedules.
  
• Wallpaper sourcing and selection recommendations.
  
• Finish and fixture recommendations, including tile, plumbing, lighting, and cabinetry finishes.
  
• Visual examples and curated finish palettes for design clarity.
  
• Preparation of presentation materials or visual decks for stakeholder, investor, or builder meetings.
  
• Aesthetic direction that bridges design intent with practical construction decisions.
  
• Expert insight into what finishes and combinations will photograph well for marketing or investment properties.
  
  

What’s Not Included

PWD’s consulting service focuses on design direction and aesthetic guidance. We do not:

• Purchase, order, or supply any materials or fixtures (tile, plumbing, lighting, etc.).
  
• Develop detailed space plans or scaled furniture layouts (included in the Design Phase).
  
• Coordinate or communicate directly with contractors or trades.
  
• Produce construction or technical documentation.
• Manage contractors, installations, or schedules.
  
• Source furniture, décor, or soft goods (covered under the Design Phase).
  
• Handle construction budgets, procurement logistics, or warranties.
  
  

Note: PWD’s role is to establish the aesthetic direction and provide detailed recommendations. Your contractor or supplier is responsible for ordering, installation, and implementation.
